Emergency Information

In case you are experiencing any of the symptoms, you should not go to your doctor or to the emergency room, to avoid any potential contamination, but you are kindly asked to call the Austrian National Public Health Organization so they can evaluate if your condition requires further investigation regarding the Covid-19.

Travel information

Vehicle transportation

  • Sedan: maximum 3 people allowed per vehicle
  • Minivan: maximum 4 people allowed per vehicle
  • Driver is obliged to wear a mask by law
  • Reintroduction of internal border controls with Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Slovenia & Hungary: Persons wishing to enter Austria from these countries must carry a medical certificate confirming a negative molecular biological test for SARS-CoV-2.
  • Austria’s borders with the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary will fully reopen on June 15
  • Airport closed till further notice.

Attractions and public transportation

  • The Schönbrunn Palace, the Hofburg, and the Belvedere Palace are all open for visits.
  • The Vienna State Opera remains closed. All events in Austria have been canceled until 30 June 2020.

  • To reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, travellers are advised to abide by the following measures: frequently clean hands by applying an alcohol-based hand rub or washing with soap and water.
  • When coughing and sneezing, cover the mouth and nose with a flexed elbow or tissue; if used, throw the tissue away immediately and wash hands.
  • If experiencing a fever, cough, difficulty breathing, or any other symptoms suggestive of respiratory illness, including pneumonia, call emergency services before going to the doctor or hospital to prevent the potential spread of the virus.
