Emergency Information

In case you are experiencing any of the symptoms, you should not go to your doctor or to the emergency room, to avoid any potential contamination, but you are kindly asked to call the Greek National Public Health Organization so they can evaluate if your condition requires further investigation regarding the Covid-19.

Travel information

Vehicle transportation

  • 2 adult passengers allowed per vehicle
  • Exception: 2 adults and 1 minor or 2 minors and 1 adult
  • Exception When Helping person in need (elderly, someone in wheelchair etc)
  • Driver is obliged to wear a mask by law
  • Customer is also obliged to wear a mask by law
  • Sitting on the front seat is not allowed within the vehicle
  • 2 passengers adults per taxi
  • Minivan / Minibus shall be filled to 50% of capacity

Attractions and public transportation

Major Attractions – closed until further notice

  • The ban on flights between Greece and seven countries has been extended to protect public health from the further spread of the Covid-19. the Civil Aviation Service (CAS).
  • All international flights must land only at the country’s main airport, the Athens International Airport (AIA).
  • Countries affected by the extension of suspended flights: Albania, Italy, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
  • In addition, the ban of entry by non-EU nationals is extended to May 31 (23:59). The exception includes family members, citizens of Schengen zone countries, health personnel, and third-country citizens with long-term visas to EU or Schengen countries, civil and defence authorities, humanitarian personnel, airline crew, and any non-EU citizen with a travel permit issued by a Greek consulate.
  • CAS noted that all domestic flights will gradually introduce regular schedules, which were suspended for pandemic reasons, as of May 18 (Monday)(source: https://greekcitytimes.com/2020/05/16/greece-extends-flight-ban-for-seven-countries/)

Other places of interest – closed until further notice 

  • Previous restrictions will still apply during Greece’s gradual return to normalcy and lifting each one will be carefully examined and announced to the public. For the time being all transport links with non-EU countries as well as Spain, Italy, Germany and Holland are still suspended till further notice.
  • Seasonal hotels and resorts, as well as year-round Hotels in Greece will remain temporarily closed until June. Till all restrictions are lifted one hotel per regional capital will remain open as well as three hotels in Greece’s two largest cities, Athens and Thessaloniki. Click here in order to find the list of all hotels excluded from the ban, in order to offer accommodation during this period.
  • The 14-day quarantine is still imposed to any new arrival, until Greece’s return to normalcy. The ban on all cruise ships and sailboats docking at Greece’s ports still applies. Furthermore, departure and docking of private and professional yachts is prohibited at all ports of the country.

  • Passengers are required to remain in isolation for 14 days upon arrival
  • A temporary ban of entry to all non-EU citizens from 18th March, 2020 to 15th May 2020
  • Airports and Ports are open only for the most important routes

General Safety and Health Information

  • To reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, travellers are advised to abide by the following measures: frequently clean hands by applying an alcohol-based hand rub or washing with soap and water.
  • When coughing and sneezing, cover the mouth and nose with a flexed elbow or tissue; if used, throw the tissue away immediately and wash hands.
  • If experiencing a fever, cough, difficulty breathing, or any other symptoms suggestive of respiratory illness, including pneumonia, call emergency services before going to the doctor or hospital to prevent the potential spread of the virus.
